Yes it has tactics but tactics are a pretty simple interface Simple interface? There must be a few thousand combinations for what you can tell your guys to do plus you have multiple presets you can save so if you want a set of commands to follow that are more of a defensive archer guard you can do that, or if you want your melee guy to go balls in against the biggest foe and make sure he's aggro'ng everyone you can program that.
You can use tactics as a simple macro system where they fire off their 3 best attacks or whatever but you can also go right down to how they pick who they attack and with what weapon. Pick armored target, switch to alternate weapon set (which u would have to give an Armor piercing weapon) then attack with "critical attack" ability.
I don't use it near as much as I should. I should tell my archer if attacking a flaming enemy use frost arrows and vice versa.
I am puzzled by why you don't think this system is complex. It's a whole sub game in itself. The healer that joined my party in that mage castle had like 8 different tactics to jump between which seemed to heavily rely on healing hte party.
I should really add a line to each of my guys that says when you are at 25% health drink a health potion but i'm having too much fun to bother! |
