No way to really answer without coming off as sounding political, (everything left of violent overthrow is considered liberal now days), but if you really want an answer. He is part of the religious cabal (evangelicals in this case) who are trying to overthrow our Democracy to impose a Theocracy. The short answer is their vision of God and Power [think The Fellowship/C Street/Coe ] is they are above the Constitution, laws of men, nations and God becasue they are the Chosen.
Since this involves religion and politics I put this in Secret because it's TMI for most people and BS to others.
They are a cross between john darby(ians)[think left behind], leo strauss(ians)[think atwater, rove, rumsfeld, cheney] and mix in the john birch society [think violent overthrow of the US, joe maccarthy(ians) creators of "Fluoride in water is a plot by Eisenhower to overthrow the US and install Communism"]. They stealth their way into office by pretending to support religious and conservative values or Democracy and the Constitution, but when they get into office they are Totalitarians.
The media has become about reporting "allegation as fact". Now anyone playing with their poop to get their daily visions for the world are treated as creditable and viable positions (think beck, rush, palin]. Even though they have seemingly no education or experience in the issues they patronize they are given the same creditability as Nobel Laureates, Scientists, Mathematicians, Politicians, Generals, Doctors, Engineers, Economists and Teachers who may have had twenty to thirty years creditability as some of the most qualified, educated and innovative thinkers in the US and the World.
It's very easy to test if they are lying before they get elected, works for liberals too, just different comparison. Test them against the last great religious conservative Eisenhower, since his words matched his deeds.
