I wouldn't be quite as critical of it if the heads of government, all of their aides, every employee in those buildings and everyone visiting those buildings were screened in the exact same manner.
Because while a plane going down is bad, taking out major government buildings via other means is going to hurt in a coordinated attack is going to hurt more. I mean if we are "at war" with anything, shouldn't we be protecting the people who coordinate and organize first response defenses?
My opinion of the current setup is, it's just enough to seem legitimate but lacking enough that they can claim "We need more funds to be 100%" after every budget increase they get. If they scanned every person at every airport, with the new tech that's supposed to be our savior...when something did happen they'd have to explain that shit with more than "Not enough funds." |
