Borderlands Patch

The promised patch for Borderlands is now available, updating Gearbox Software's role-playing shooter to version 1.41. The update is available automatically for the game on Steam, Xbox LIVE, and the PlayStation Network, and there's also a manual patch for the Windows edition on the Gearbox Website, which is mirrored on AtomicGamer, The Patches Scrolls, and WorthPlaying. Here's the change list.

  • Level cap increase of 8 levels for all players.
    • Original Borderlands players will now be able to achieve level 58.
    • Owners of The Secret Armory of General Knoxx can achieve a record setting increase to a maximum level of 69.
  • Enemies now scale to new level caps throughout the whole game as long as play through 2 has been completed.
  • Item drops (with the exception of COM Decks) will now scale to new enemy level caps.
  • DLC4 Achievement/Trophy glitches that have affected some users will now properly award players for obtaining these achievements.

FOV. The standard FOV gives you fish eyes. Well, maybe not you, but plenty of people. This can be fixed by editing an .ini-file. But since a lot of people complained about it, Gearbox could/should have fixed that at least a year ago.

And I hate Gearbox for STILL making weapons disappear. I had the mother of all shotguns, even good at mid range, but got killed in a very tough firefight. When I got revived, the shotgun was gone from my inventory. I HATE YOU, GUYS! Stole my uber-shotgun, you... ARGH! *nerdrage*

Honest question since I just got the game a few months ago without really checking out on it, mostly playing singleplayer. What widescreen issue are you talking about? Because I have not changed any settings at all and enjoy the game fine.

Impossible to play without it? Hyperbole much?
Consoles? I owned two: a Pong clone and an Atari 2600. And that's it.
