German Call of Duty: Black Ops EU Ban

German website PC Games reports that German players will not be able to install localized versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops instead of the censored German edition of the military shooter. The game requires Steam activation even for retail copies, and word is that users located in Germany will not be permitted to activate versions purchased elsewhere. Thanks MCV.

CJ_Parker is fully right. it is an asshole move from Activision to block cheaper imports. German version 60 euro, UK Version 40 Euro both include VAT already. i am tired of this BS with region locks and so on. The german version has a bad localisation, voice acting and translation are horrid. like with movies i wnt to see the original version. the problem here is not valve per se. the problem is activision by making steam preventing the activation of this game even BEFORE the authorities ban anythign officially. it is just about the money. so the only way to make activision understand that customers are grown ups is to hurt them in the wallet and not buy the game
