Open Outcast Techdemo

The Open Outcast Website now offer Oasis version 1.1, a techdemo for Open Outcast, an upcoming freeware remake of Outcast, the action/adventure released by Appeal back at the tail-end of the 20th Century. Though the project has "open" in the title, it is not actually open-source, but rather uses the Crysis Wars engine, and in addition to download mirrors, Mod DB also has instructions on how to run this mod using the Crysis Wars Trial. Thanks PCPointer, where they have screenshots from the game.

This is looking really great. The dialogue videos on ModDB are pretty funny and the voice-acting isn't half-bad. I'm looking forward to this one, though it probably won't be finished until 2013. Hopefully it doesn't get shut down by whoever owns the Outcast IP.
