Runes of Magic Patched

A new version of Runes of Magic is now live, bringing this free-to-play MMORPG to version 3.0.4. These patch notes outline what's new, including a new instance called The Raksha Temple, a Juice Festival, Guild Castle Level III, two new Guild events, a new public encounter, Guild Quest Board - Level 3, a newbie tutorial system, and a new world boss called Sesphiroth.

But how is the game? Is it fun?
It's a quest-driven MMO without extraordinary variations (kill N of X, collect N of Y). If you've ever touched wow, it should feel vaguely familiar.
It's been around a while, so starting/playing with friends should be fun, otherwise the first levels(?) might not feel like a MMO, save for the world chat.
Level 10 confronts the user with the choice of a secondary class. Since the combination decides what roles the character can ultimately do well, reading up on the community's oppinions of them would be a good idea. Additionally, playing a few minutes of the secondary class helps decide whether that's your cup of tea at all.

So far, I found the game good enough to occasionally play (we've only played as a group, not too frequently) and without a subscription fee, I don't feel pressure to increase my playing time to get the most out of that.
Sounds like I've become a casual. Embarassed
