Dead Space 2 Multiplayer Details

GameTrailers.com has GT TV's debut trailer highlighting multiplayer support in Dead Space 2, the outer-space survival/horror shooter sequel due in January of next year. The clip depicts co-op objective-based gameplay reminiscent of Left 4 Dead, looking like it comes from the Xbox 360 version by the repeated appearances of the dreaded "A" button. There's also the video of the game's appearance on Gametrailers TV, as Geoff Keighley visits EA's Visceral Games for the lowdown on the game's Human vs. Necromorph action.

RE5 was not a horror game, it was action focused.

This. Co-op works fine for shooters or beat-em'ups or genres in which immersing yourself in the game world isn't important. However, genres like stealth, horror, roleplaying, etc, rely greatly on immersion and as such, suffer when played with someone else. The very presence of another player is a constant reminder that you are indeed playing a game.
