Though he won reelection yesterday, South Australian Attorney General Michael Atkinson has announced he will not run again when his current four-year term concludes, reports Adelaide Now. Atkinson has been the primary obstacle to the adoption of an R18+ rating that would allow adult games to be sold in Australia, so this lends hope that a victory for the pro-R18+ crowd may be coming. He says nobody has pressured him to step aside, saying his desire to be able to watch his son's soccer games is a factor, though his indication that he plans to watch his son play this year indicates the job is not necessarily preventing this.
