Yeah, the low point was when you could buy an x360 or ps3 and get great bang-for-buck return. Now technology has advanced enough that you get more with your money with a PC. Just talking gaming, not web/e-mail access.

PCs are still getting games like Galactic Civilization and X3, both vastly deeper than anything on a console, or anything a console can even attempt to do.. so no, PC gaming obviously can't be dead.

Even the Civilization series is deeper than any console game. The Sims, well, those you can just go outside and do all that stuff yourself, but some people would rather watch a fake person go to work and water their plants (?), BUT I DIGRESS

PC gaming is not even close to dead.

Gaming IN GENERAL is at a lowpoint.
And that's why we have DOSBox. Who needs dumbed down console ports when you have Mechwarrior 2?

People need to quit using the "pc gaming is dying" line. Gaming IN GENERAL is at a lowpoint.

PC gaming is dying or already dead
EBgames.com lists hundreds of upcoming PC games. True, when the top listing is a prison tycoon game, it doesn't look good. But when EBgames removes the PC gaming section entirely, it might be time to declare the platform dead for games.
Every major PC gaming magazine, and a few dead ones, have reported on the demise of PC gaming. It's definitely not a happy time to be a keyboard-and-mouse gamer, especially when a site like VG Chartz, which tracks game sales, doesn't even include the platform. Yet, while PC game sales have declined, there still are millions of Mac and PC gamers around.

EBgames.com lists no fewer than 170 pages of upcoming PC game titles, and franchises such as The Sims (a new Sims 3 version comes out this fall) and Civilization enjoy a loyal following. Casual PC gaming is also exploding, and sites such as Club Penguin and Barbie.com are overloaded with young PC gamers every day.

So basically the best that can be said about PC gaming is that Civilization and the Sims are still popular and that casual game sales are taking off. Yippee.

Did they remove extending the desktop to the video out port (svideo or hdmi / second dvi port) as well?
