I hope it's not true, or that they change their mind or something. I am a huge id software fan, and have brought everything they have made since Doom, they have signed up with EA for Rage I believe, I hope they don't have this crap on Rage, only time will tell I guess

@Theyarecomingforyou:

Its better than complaing on message boards, I'll tell ya that.

EA really doesn't give two shits about your complains, they are not going to remove the intrusive DRM, just because in their perception, it stops 0 day releases. In reality, only BioShock didn't get cracked on release, all other titles Warhead, Spore got cracked the same day or the day after release. It's annoying to legitimate customers, but there are clearly ways around it, all of which are better than being a crybaby on the internet.

I don't like or support DRM FYI, but I've come to accept it and just move on. I suggest you do the same.

I was perfectly happy not being able to copy a disc, when all it was "copy protection" and not this DRM crap we have today. Fine then. I'll just take care of the disc and be careful who I let borrow it. If it wears out in 2 or 3 years and I'm still interested in playing that game, I will be more than happy to buy another copy.

But this install limit nonsense? And giving optical drives a hard time just READING the disc? And installing new drivers for my drives? Rebooting the computer between games to get the disc to read? Blacklisting software on my computer? That is unacceptable and it's getting worse! And while legitimate customers now put up with all this there has been absolutely no progress made in this whole business of actually preventing piracy, casual or otherwise. That WAS the point, right?

I personally don't care about online activations, I think the whole argument has been blown way out of proportion. If people are bothered by DRM, then just by-pass it. Yeah, it's a bit annoying, but it's better than complaining 24/7
Fuck off should I have to crack a game I've bought because of DRM. That's like buying a car but having to hotwire it because of a new anti-theft system. It's not "a bit" annoying to not be able to play games you own - it's absolutely unacceptable.

I have no problem with DRM, by the way. I have a problem with restrictions that interfere with gaming, like limited activations that aren't revoked by uninstall. The current crop of DRM is unacceptable. It was shit enough having to read through manuals to find the right word, especially as I'd keep losing them, but not being able to play the game because it's been activated too much is too much.

In that case, just use a no DVD crack or mount an image. That's what I do. Buy>crack>play.

These "EA Killed my family and raped my dog" discussions are getting tiresome.

EA stated that all future titles would use their current DRM, so it's pretty likely this will... otherwise what's the point? I'll pass.

I haven't had any problems myself (Bioshock, Crysis Warhead or Clear Sky) but I'm actually worried about the future - all it takes is an upgrade and a couple of reinstalls of Windows and I won't have access to my games, and I don't know what the situation is when it comes to Steam (if EA give you a new CD key I don't see how that could work on Steam). I only found out after my purchases. I'm just furious with the idea of being treated like a criminal when I spend good money on games. EA can fuck off.

I’m being facetious, I don't know that they put "online activation DRM" into this version, I wouldn't put it past EA to do this.

If you’re thinking of getting this I’d look the box over for anything mentioning “INTERNET CONNECTION, ONLINE AUTHENTICATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT REQUIRED TO PLAY.”

As that’s what it says on my copy of Crysis Warhead.

As much as I want this and to get the Deluxe Edition I won't touch it because of EA's current track record with DRM.
How about not touching it because of EA's poor after sale patching support for both games but Kane's Wrath in particular?

I wonder if it has 1 star yet on amazon...

    Now with 80% more DRM!

Are you for real?

What the hell good would it do to put MORE DRM on a re-release?

Isn't this the most obvious case yet of DRM only affecting those who actually buy games? The two games in the bundle are already out in 'the wild' so what good would it do to protect these discs?

I mean, if you really wanted to pirate these games, you would grab the individual games that are already available. I didn't even look them up on a torrent search, I just KNOW they're already available.

Side note - I have no desire to buy or pirate this or any future C&C games. EA drove this franchise into the ground quite a while ago.
