The
Fallout 3 Q&A on NotesOnGameDev.net talks with Dane Olds, character artist
on Bethesda Softworks' upcoming post-apocalyptic RPG sequel. Topics include his
role in the game's development, the relative scarcity of games with Fallout's
"retro-future" theme, the challenges of creating customizable character content,
inspirations for the game's character art, and a bit more.

It wasn't very buggy to begin with if you ask me. I had little to no problems running it. Can't even remember if it crashed to desktop. I played Act I three times through and the entire game as a semi-goodie-two-shoes character with nothing that stands out as a show stopper or even a bump in the road. But then I am a thousand times more understanding than 90% of the posters here...

I'm having a blast with this game. I got it free with my 8800GT, and I've been holding off playing it until the EE rolled out. Great fun so far, just finished Chapter I. I'm glad CD Projekt put the EE out, because the initial buggy reviews scared me and a lot of people off. Being able to play the game in a more polished state has been awesome so far.

Is that the US version or the UK version (of the Witcher?)
As for TAGES, I'm not sure that that's not something you don't have to worry about. A few years back, TAGES had just about as bad a name in Europe as Starforce did, with probably the same amount of tales of PCs being raped by it.

Not sure what you mean... the DRM in Witcher isn't really anything you have to worry about. There are no activations involved, no limitations. It's just a disc check. If you play the original version + Enhanced Edition patch, it removes the CD check, but if you play the retail Enhanced Edition you'll need to have the disc in. At least I think the patched version doesn't have the protection. I could be wrong.

Hai guys, I'm confused.
On one hand the anti-DRM hate campaign is in full swing with a veritable onslaught of anti-EA etc.
On the other hand there's been a number of posts lately saying how good The Witcher is.
I became curious and had a little ferret around and according to wikipedia The Witcher has the TAGES copy protection system that invisibly removes NPCs from the game when it's triggered?
What am I missing here?

Techie714, The witcher is indeed awesome. My favorite RPG since the original Fallouts. Man, someone should make another one of them

Tonight… America is suffering from fallout. But first let’s go over to our weather man Peter Venkman, Peter? Peter: Thanks Ray! Over my shoulder you can see I've placed icons on our United States map to show where fire and brimstone have started falling down from the skies. Over in the east you can clearly see that rivers are boiling. I expect about forty days of darkness in parts of the mid-west states with a fifty-percent chance of rain. In the west, earthquakes. In the Washington region, volcanoes. In Salem Mass the dead have begun rising from the grave. Finally, in Los Angeles I expect human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together. In a word… this map is mass hysteria! Ray? Ray: Thanks for that thrilling report Peter. Peter: Not a problem Ray. If anyone needs me I'll be in my trailer going over my cash flow reserves with my financial advisor Jack Daniels. Ray: Sounds great.
