EA announces that
Spore has sold over one million units for PC, Mac, and DS since the launch
of the life simulation a couple of weeks ago, and that over 25 million
creatures, vehicles, and buildings have been uploaded to the
Sporepedia (26,531,862 as
of this writing). They also highlight the game's critical reception, pointing to
its
Metacritic score, which currently stands at 85.

1 million, across 3 platforms.
And I believe you said it will probably sell 2 million right?
No they said it would sell 2 million IN SEPTEMBER ALONE. So, obviously, the game is a gargantuan failure and this is all the pirates' fault.

1 million in two weeks is phenomenal no matter how you cut it. Give it another month, or at worst two, and it will easily sail past 2 million.
I'm curious what percentage of that is the DS sales - which really should be considered as a separate game. I'd say anything over 50% being DS would not be a good sign.

One thing I'm proud to say is that I'll live my entire lifetime and will have voted ZERO TIMES. Those of you that voted for 'Dubya' though...shame on you!
And for those of you that are proud of being ignorant and allowed 'Dubya' to get voted a second time by not voting against him and condemning people who actually did vote, shame on you.
Sorry, this should be in OoTB but that was an incredibly stupid statement. It was. If you chose not to vote and let your opinion be known, you have no right to bitch when things don't go the way you wanted.
By not voting, he's just as guilty as those that voted for Bush.

Remember this when you run like a giddy prom queen to the poles to vote for McShame
Unfortunately the person I think is the best choice wasn't nominated. Neither guys IMHO are good. They're both Senators; think about that for a moment.
In over 200 years of America's recognized existence only 15 senators have ever been President. The last one was Richard Nixon and we know how well that turned out... http://www.senate.gov/artandhistory/history/common/briefing/senators_became_president.htm
And that's all I'll say about that... back to video game talk. Is Ron Paul in "The Political Machine"? Haven't played it, so I don't know. Hate politics. One thing I'm proud to say is that I'll live my entire lifetime and will have voted ZERO TIMES. Those of you that voted for 'Dubya' though...shame on you!

Never assume. You know what that makes out of you.
I just prefer to completely tune out when people can't show enough restraint to keep their politics off of a website specializing in videogames. |

Also Nin: I figured after the post that it very well might be the same case as The Sims; However, I don't think Spore will have the same casual audience which is found on The Sims. As similar as they are, I would venture a guess that the audience which cators to The Sims would not have the same taste for Spore since it's not as 'real' so to speak. I could agree with that, somewhat. Makes me wonder what EA will try to do with it, if/when it doesn't meet their expectations.
Playing this and the Witcher. My copy should be here tomorrow. Really looking forward to finally getting to play it...

Only problem I have with this game is EA.
Playing this Well I guess you don't have too much of a problem with EA then. They're aren't EVER getting a single red cent of my money again, period.

Does this mean I can expect my McDonald's fries to be a little soggy soon?
Probably, and I'll likely need to say the obligatory "Would you like to super size your order?"
I'm crossing my fingers and praying for myself and anyone else in the same situation. Seriously though bro, we're all in the same boat here, here's to hoping you don't lose your job!
What type of job do you have, and what makes you think you're possibly in danger of losing it?
Remember this when you run like a giddy prom queen to the poles to vote for McShame, with your plastic smile on. I think 8 years is enough, no?

The User Metacritic score is 46/100, not the professional 85/100 as reported.
Also, the highest professional Metacritic scores are from Continental and UK based pro-industry publications.
My point: Spore isn't as well received by the people using it as the headline implies.
