Absolutely right. Older players, you know, with an income that doesn't involve mowing lawns, aren't going to care about a monthly fee, but they are also less likely to impulse buy a pair of sparkling butterfly wings for their character. Unless they are doing it for their pathetically useless girlfriend in hope of subpar nookie.

The only free games that don't attract children are the really complicated (or "boring") ones. But, by decreasing the amount of players and cutting out the only demographic that actually cares about buying anything in-game, they decrease their revenue. The only way for F2P to have any hope of being anywhere close to profitable is to cater to the lowest common denominator, which ruins its image.
