    Did they actually edge out 2k? I have found the Basketball and Hockey games from 2k to be wayyyyy better.
This actually happened last year; for some reason 2K either lowered their quality or EA raised theirs.

I'm interested to see how NHL '09 turns out though. I've heard really good things about it.
I'm not an elitist, I'm a gamer - those lines that the PC or Console elitists draw are the boundaries of their ignorance.

 Try the 2k NHL demo...it's out. Not good at all. 2k demo wasnt even better than the NHL 2008 demo that I still had on my PS3.

 Doesn't it stop becoming a prediction when a dozen other analysts said the same thing before you?

NHL 09. If you are like me and have felt the NHL series has made baby steps over the years...try NHL 09. Going to be the first NHL game I buy in over 10 years. Be A Pro mode is awesome. After playing as a single player so much, going back to controlling the whole team felt very chaotic and generally the game didn't flow anywhere near as well.
