EA & Take-Two: Mum's the Word

Silicon Alley Insider has the latest on the discussions between Electronic Arts and Take-Two, which recently took a turn for the less hostile (story). Word is EA has filed a confidentiality agreement with Take-Two, so presumably the next thing we'll hear about a potential merger between the two companies will be after it does or does not happen. They article also offers a recap of the brief but stormy history of EA's attempts to takeover Take-Two. Thanks Kotaku.

	So somebody at EA finnaly realised what kind of SERIOUSLY bad press they have been getting with their attempted take-over of Take-Two. (hmmm no pun intended) Took em long enough, dumbass suits....

	Soooooo - I should buy up all the GTA related and other products currently on Steam? hehehehehe As they will probably disappear. 	EA do release some good games (Spore and Red Alert 3 look very good) but I refuse to support a company that takes us backwards instead of forwards; dropping Steam as a digital platform certainly does that. That's not a comment on the quality of the games but on their business practices. NEway, we don't know that Take-Two will be bought up, nor do we know whether Steam will be dropped at a distribution platform. 	As much as I'd like to boycott EA, I'd just be lying to myself. They release the occasional decent game that I cannot resist buying.

	I don't give a shit as long as Take-Two games (GTA4 and Bioshock 2 especially) make it on to Steam.
