 I liked Geometry Wars Evolved. It was okay, but I sucked, and right about the time all the snakes showed up I died. A lot. My ADD would take over and shiny things were everywhere...it became too much.

Geometry Wars 2 is one of those games I think I will play for 5 minutes with and end up playing for an hour. Why? Because on my second run through of wave I'll score 800,000 and think I can do better...on my 23rd run through I'm at 15,000.

 No, its really nothing like the original (as far as I can tell from playing the beta).

What IS similar is that Volition knows how to make a fun multiplayer game. Its also considerably more interactive in terms of destructibility. Oh, and your on Mars.

Personally I like the way they implemented 3rd person. its very similar to Freedom Fighters which had great 3rd person combat.

 Is anyone a fan of Red Faction that has played the Red Faction Guerilla Beta? I tryed it out yesterday and I was expecting quite a bit more from this game. When speaking about destructible terrain people would constantly drop this game as an example that used destructible terrain long before BF BC and I guess I was expecting this to be...good.

The viewpoint is annoying with your player taking up a large portion of the screen. I'm constantly wishing I could step to the side and get him out of the picture. And you typically have 1 gun, 1 hammer and you can pick up special packs...seems a little light on content...

Is this pretty close to the original? Because I don't see why anyone liked this game if so... It doesn't feel like there is any strategy, it's just shoot the other team faster than they shoot you...
