Competitive solo or team play: check
Dexterity and coordination required: check
Mental acuity and psychology play a role? check
Sounds like a sport to me.
Having been a gamer for a very long time, I just watched my first championship video game competition on TV. It had announcers with play by play, and was actually pretty exciting. I believe it's here to stay.
