See, this is how a developer should handle fan criticism. I think it would be far to easy for him to say "STFU n00b, I know what's best for you!" like some other intergalactic devs. Instead, he gave a nice, calm, retort.
Besides, I like the way Diablo 3 looks now.
I hooked up a little Diablo 2 the other day. It's not bad looking, but it's hardly the colorless, dark palate that some folks think Diablo 3 should be. Some of the levels are down right gaudy.
And, in response to nin, after playing Too Human a couple times, I have done a 180 on the game. I'm now really looking forward to it.

I love the look of D3 exactly as Blizz has shown it, so far...
I would also like to point out that after spending more time with the Too Human demo, it's pretty much what I wanted HellGate to be, before it became the mess that they shoveled into the box and shipped. It seems to have a lot in common w/ Diablo (random weapon/rune drops, shrines, skill trees, 5 classes, hack and slash out the wazoo) and it's really grown on me, as I was incredibly skeptical of it at first.
If you have a 360, check it out...

I am really surprised by this "controversy."
Admittedly, I have never been a big Blizzad nor Diablo fanboy - I would never describe myself as being "hardcore" with regards to either of these two things.
From day one, I have been pleasantly surprised by the look of Dialo III and, of all things, it never occured to me to complain about the palette.
I honestly question if they played the same games I did or if they are even looking at the games, not the mythos they have created in their minds or fan fiction...
Just like the people that tell me there's a story in WoW.
