IGN reports that
Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway has been delayed by a month and will now be
released on September 23. The story is based on the fact that both
Amazon.com and
GameStop changed their listings to reflect that release date at the same
time, which is compelling, but by no means definitive. They also note that
Limited Edition listings are now online offering an action figure, a comic and a
poster map for $10 more.

I'm not sure why you say you love the gameplay but don't like the multiplayer. I dunno... it just seems so much effort when I can play against bots and have a great time. In TF2, CS and DOD I feel very involved, it feels very human - with UT3 I don't find it as immersive. I also find the graphics a bit busy... it all feels a bit much. I suppose what annoys me is that it's so close to being a great game but I find myself opting for other games.
With TF2 or CS:Source when I play I know what to expect... I find UT3 varies quite considerably and the gameplay differences between the gameplay modes are very pronounced. It's nothing major, it's just not quite right.
Oh Tribes, where are you when we need you most? Hopefully Vivendi's recent shedding of IP will let them sell the franchise to a good studio who will then proceed to making a proper sequel to the best multiplayer shooter ever. Yes please. I had so much fun with Tribes 2... great times.

ET:QW tried, but I don't like it. UT3 tried but most didn't like it (I actually do). ArmA is perhaps too niche and clunky. Right now there seems to be a void of new and great online-focused shooters. Crysis doesn't count. Too buggy and the multiplayer, while decent, didn't deliver a full experience. Halo3? Fuck that controller. Oh Tribes, where are you when we need you most? Thanks TaCfY. Yeah..
Well I do want to correct myself for one thing.. Crysis' vanilla deathmatch is actually phenomenal. Thing is, I am so used to game modes like CTF, conquest, warfare, etc that regular deathmatch grows old. Vanilla DM worked for Doom 1/2 and Quake1 but not since.
The UT3 maps are good. Yes there could have been more. I find that there are just enough warfare maps to make it replayable. I'm not sure why you say you love the gameplay but don't like the multiplayer. A good way to learn the maps is to spectate games. They are well thought out and have good details that enhance the game. The retail version allows spectating. Yeah the browser and UI really is lacking. Not fixed yet either. Since I usually connect to just one server it's not too much of an inconvenience for me.
There are some great games going on at umgleague's warfare server. Great server to spectate because the top players are there. Its a bit like watching sports. cya

Most FPS games of late try to appeal to the masses in giving them a focused single player experience and in doing so forgets that there is a sizable market for a dedicated online multiplayer FPS shooter. Yes, but I tend to find it is the singleplayer that gets most overlooked. Few games seem to get the balance right - COD4 did well, as did The Orange Box (different games technically but part of the same package). I'm happy to see games like Bioshock focus entirely on singleplayer, even if there is potential for arena style deathmatch. Obviously with unlimited time / development teams we'd get both but business realities prevent that in most cases. Crysis is the perfect example of why developers shouldn't tack on poorly thought-out multiplayer elements to a singleplayer game.
UT3 tried but most didn't like it (I actually do). I love the UT3 gameplay but the multiplayer experience isn't great - I actually had more fun multiplayer with the demo, I guess because the map selection was obviously limited. I just don't have the motivation to learn every map... I think others are the same, hence why Dust2 and 2Fort are so common in CS/TF2 respectively. The UT3 server browser is also a chore in comparison to Steam and it just hasn't quite got the right feel. I think they need to cut loose a lot of the baggage and refocus the game - it will piss of some of the fans but it should make it a better game overall. I found the multiplayer in the original UT to be a lot more fun... especially the domination and deathmatch modes.

At first I thought this might be a good game. Now I'm thinking this is a dumbed down console-ish type, primarily focusing on the single player game.
