Yes, kxmode, it sounds like a personal problem.
Again, Fallout is a decade past. Games of its style have been economic failures in that time.
No offense, but everyone here that thought they'd get a "true" sequel was an idiot.
In the meantime, several Diablo clones have had quite a bit of success, and Diablo 2 is only 6 years old. So it makes sense that a sequel within a still-popular genre remains there.
Again, if this was simply a "spiritual successor" to Fallout no one would be whining. If this was Wastelands 2 it'd be drooled over (well, prior to this video.) But, since it's Fallout, people complain.
Accept that Fallout was dead, people. Get on with it. Your lives will be a bit more pleasant. |

Some people have said this game is "Oblivion with guns", and I say "Whats wrong with that?" To those that haven't played the priors let me give you another perspective. Let us suppose you are a huge Diablo fan. Now imagine Blizzard went bankrupted and the Diablo IP was sold to another company. They decide to make Diablo 3. As a huge fan you're excited and hoping for an isometric game with modern graphics. Instead what you get is a quasi-realtime 3D action FPS RPG looking monstrosity with the Diablo 3 name slapped on. Needless to say it looks nothing like the first two Diablo games. Do you get it now?

Damn, some days you crybabies just piss me off to where I actually have to say something. It's Two-Thousand-f$cking 8, not 1998. Things evolve, embrace it or GTF out of the way.
Consoles are schwag. Have you seen Rage? It looks much better. Feels like Fallout 3. And is a PC exclusive. PCs are more schwag.

He was point blank with a double-barrelled shotgun. That's been blowing limbs off since Chasm. You're missing the point. The whole point of VATS is so you can target specific limbs. If you can easily do the same thing in real-time, VATS is rendered useless and the whole concept of Action Points is nullified.
Though, I guess Bethesda already did that when they decided to have weapon skill affect damage instead of accuracy.

I love it, the complainers in droves "It doesn't look like the old Fallout, Whaaaaa!!"
I say kick ass, join the 21st Century bitches! I love the look of the new Fallout! I'm looking forward to this. Post-Apocalyptic gameplay, looks like STALKER, sign me up.
You want it to look like the old game? Go play the old game and quit yer bitching. Can't get the old to run anymore, just wait for GOG to come out with it.

Notice how Howard had no problem blowing off a guy's leg in real-time..? Makes me wonder what VATS is for. He was point blank with a double-barrelled shotgun. That's been blowing limbs off since Chasm. |

VATS is for people who can't aim in FPS games and so Bethesda can justify this crap as an "RPG."
Wow that marching band music is so retro-ironic. And slow motion violence never gets old so the kids will certainly buy this up and I wonder how many GOTYs this is going to get from the kids who pass off as games journalists?
Gaming is dying.

That demo presentation was really, really bad. The environment was boring, the enemies looked stupid and it basically looked like an FPS. Notice how Howard had no problem blowing off a guy's leg in real-time..? Makes me wonder what VATS is for.

Well, the art direction looked poor in the early screenshots but seeing it in motion it's a lot better than I was expecting. Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely no bloody idea whether it's true to Fallout or not, but graphically it looks good (even if the setting doesn't appeal to me as much as Oblivion). The third-person perspective for queued attacks seems very lame, though; definitely a gimmick and stupid, even for a console.
So, I'm far from convinced. Some aspects are much better and some much worse than I was expecting... with games like STALKER: Clear Sky and Red Alert 3 on the horizon, and with Crysis: Warhead potentially a good game, they're gonna have to impress me a LOT more to get a sale from me.

Founder of the "I Hate Smiley Fitz, n00bdog and Twonky" society CPU upgrade? Check. Graphics upgrade? Not sure. I can wait for DX11 or grab a second 4870 now... or do both. Hmmm. |

Called The Enclave, the new government is ruled by President John Henry Eden (voiced by Malcolm McDowell) and its laws are enforced by the powerful Brotherhood of Steel.
Uh, what? Last time I checked, the Brotherhood was adamantly opposed to the Enclave. Must be all that radiation.

In fact, Fallout 3 is very much Oblivion in a post-apocalyptic world. Ouch.

I loathe the art direction. This just doesn't look like Fallout to me. I'm not hopeful. Oblivion with guns - oh joy.

I'm guessing verbal directions are also out and there will be another kick ass compass or arrow of some sort so I never get lost. Yep, quest compass has been confirmed. Fallout 3 is Oblivion 2: After the Bomb, nothing more.
