But I thought you already said the BF physics are shit?!?!?!

EDIT: I'm playing and having fun. Baffled why he holds his opinion.

Isn't this line getting a little old.

The game is OK, but I still play BF:1942/DC more. This patch does make it better. The only servers that have upgraded so far are all running the new map, and it gets old quick.

Don't be a twit - if you don't like the game don't play.

I think it's great and I really enjoy playing.

If you like clunky, cardboard-like shooters.

You know I've spent ages trying to think of a way to convey how wrong Joint Ops feels, and "cardboard-like" does it perfectly

I'm not sure I've ever seen a game that requires "real combat skills". I guess it just depends on what you mean by "real".

I thought the last patch is where the game should've been at ootb. This one basically refines the interface to the point where 1942's was when BFV was released and, what, a new map?

Most of the new tweaks to weapons and vehicles seem oriented towards a better public server melee experience. I wonder what it'll do for organized team play.

Well I like BFV.

I agree, however I am aware of the technical limitations. It's not ruining my game at all with the way it is, I've seen far worse "trade-offs" in other games. Games aren't perfect, nor will they ever be, well not anytime soon at least.

No game has been able to create multiplayer action to that of the Battlefield games with air, land, and sea combat utilizing vehicles and infantry. Joint Ops tried, but in my opinion failed horribly. The vehicles have brutally horrible physics, especially the air vehicles.

but this also means that not every punk and his sister are going to be trying to hide in a bush and snipe all day long.
Well it's not just campers. I don't camp but if I hear a chopper coming in low, I'd like to be able to duck in some rice patties or some brush. It sucks when they come out of nowhere and you get killed with pinpoint accuracy while you were seemingly fully covered.

Thats an 'awesome' feature, especially since the person thats shooting you in the ass probably 'turned bushes off' so that he could do so.
Gotta love morons that have never even loaded BFV yet they are passing judgement and slamming features that don't even exist.

You cannot turn off the foilage.

Unfortunately there are technical limitations that the foilage can't be drawn when viewed from long distances, but this also means that not every punk and his sister are going to be trying to hide in a bush and snipe all day long.

I read on Planetbattlefield that the 1942 mod for BFV is going to be out within the month.

BFV is pathetic. 80% of the action is waiting near a flag and hoping you'll survive two waves of spawning enemy before capturing it. No real combat skill involved.

On the bright side, there are a couple of interesting mods in progress.

Does it make the kiddies stop running full sprint while shooting at you full auto and bunny hopping?

I sure as hell hope not.

Does it remove the sneaking-around-in-the-bushes-and-getting-shot-in-the-ass 'feature'?

Does it add more Big Tanks?

If not, I'll stick with BF1942 (esp. Pirates mod!) kthxbye

    Its all about joint ops
Didn't care for the demo of Joint Ops. The vehicles felt floaty as hell and the combat just had didn't feel right. There was nothing technically wrong with the game it just simply didn't feel solid when I'd play it.

I'm looking forward to trying this out after work.

LAW and RPG damage vs. helicopters significantly increased.

I like that fix.
