Steam News has word of updates to both Counter-Strike and Counter-Strike:
Condition Zero via Valve's broadband delivery service. The update adds a bunch
of tweaks to Counter-Strike and updated player models for Condition Zero. Thanks
Frans.

you have to edit the registry to get all the acceleration off. or you can just download a mouse accel fix from the cpl's ftp or any number of places.

In control panel->Mouse, there's a setting for mouse acceleration. Try turning it off and see if that helps.

I got sick of CS, but suprisingly enough, I've had a decent amount of fun with CS:CZ. The new hosties are cool. Having them escape seeing them freak out about gunfire is neat. The updated maps look pretty good too.
damn, remember when CS updates used to bring down the interweb.... Yeah, and I think it's funny when people would complain that steam was having problems logging in because the servers were overloaded. The amount of data they send borders on the ridiculous. Now, it's pretty smooth sailing.

Just because CS is kinda old doesn't make it crap. If I had the time, I wouldn't playing it over a LAN again - albeit mainly for nostalgic reasons.
