Evolve Teases Tuesday Reveal

A new teaser trailer is live to raise interest in Evolve, multiplayer shooter expected this autumn from Left 4 Dead creators Turtle Rock Studios after being revealed earlier this year. There's not much to the 19 second clip, which has the simple description "The hunt begins... see more soon," a logo, the date 02.11.14, and a couple of bars of one bad Mother cover (which is what it happens to say on my wallet). The 11th is Tuesday, so it won't be long before we should know what this means. Thanks nin via GameSpot.

Crashed Lander Demo

The Brain Blinks website offers a playable version 2 alpha demo for Crashed Lander, an arcade-style flying game that boasts friendly flying controls, in spite of QWOP being listed as one of the game's inspirations (along with Lunar Lander and Space Taxi). Word is the demo "has support for Oculus Rift, 6 playable levels, and friendlier flight controls." Those who enjoy the game may want to consider supporting its Indiegogo campaign. Here's a trailer showing off what to expect from the demo. Continue here to read the full story.

Out of the Blue

It's a culinary weekend here at the BlueTower, as after my singed Bolognese sauce yesterday, I set out to make some of my chili, which is not coincidental, as I had picked up meat for each. The chili is a bit of an experiment, as I was inspired to use some lamb along with the beef this time, and I found some lamb cut up for stewing that seemed perfect for the occasion. At least I thought so until I started cooking and realized the lamb had bones in it. But I decided they could be fished out after the meat fell off of them, and cooking meat on the bone adds flavor, so this could be good news, and it seemed the worst this could do was throw off my spices, since there was less meat than planned (so of course I didn't change the other proportions anyway, since we like our chili spicy in these parts). Sure enough, after cooking overnight, the bones were mostly bare this morning, and there was also less of them than I pictured, so the proportions of the recipe are pretty intact. The good news is that tasting the chili, I think it's the best I've ever made, as the lamb added a dimension it never exhibited before. The bad news is that some of the bones separated into smaller components, so it's hard for me to be positive I fished them all out when transferring everything into jars, so I may be the first chili cook in history to have to warn about bones in the chili.
