Steam now offers presales of
A Valley Without Wind 2, the upcoming platformer sequel. Those who purchase the game prior to its release in February will get immediate access to the beta version, and will also receive a free copy of the original A Valley Without Wind. If this all doesn't provide enough incentive, the game is currently on sale for 60% off the regular price.
German site
GBase.ch has word from I-FRIQIYA that February is when to expect the release of the PC edition of
Fuel Overdose, the oddly named tactical/action/racing game. They also have word that the game is now available for the PlayStation 3, but that due to some sort of glitch, you have to actively search to find it. They cap the news off with a
recently released trailer showing off the game.

EA announces plans for demo versions of
Dead Space 3, the upcoming horror-themed shooter sequel. This will be released on Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network on January 22nd, though Xbox 360 owners have the chance to get to play it a week earlier if they sign up
on this page. Apparently PC owners interested in a demo can have a lump of coal. Bah humbug!
The
Irrational Games Website shows off the image that won
the voting to be the alternate cover for
BioShock Infinite, the upcoming shooter sequel.
NYTimes.com - Game Theory- Making Room for the Women.
Unfortunately this rise in so-called casual play has upset some of those who see themselves as guardians of the true flame. There’s been a definite backlash against the idea that women are entering the hallowed citadel, dropping in a few scatter cushions and ending all the fun. Particular ire is reserved for anyone who dares to point out that female characters in games are often unsupported in the bra region for no apparent reason; given boring, bland supporting roles; and totally absent.
Happy Boxing Day, Kwanzaa, Second Day of Christmas, Wren Day, Bulgarian Father's Day, St. Stephen's Day, and more. That's right, today is practically an entre holiday season unto itself. MrsBlue and I had a lovely Christmas, actually venturing out to spend the evening with some friends, who cooked up a lovely dinner. Here's hoping things were equally pleasant for you. That may be tough in some areas of the country, as apparently there are some really severe winter storms out there, so here's also hoping you stay safe. I guess we'll know how bad this is soon enough, because apparently the whole mess is heading our way.
