Kotaku has a follow-up to Stardock's recent lawsuit against Alexandra Miseta over what the company alleges was its former marketing manager's role in the shortcomings of Elemental: War of Magic. They have court documents showing that before being sued herself, Miseta had already brought her own lawsuit against Stardock CEO Brad Wardell for sexual harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination, and that Stardock's lawsuit came three weeks after a judge denied their request to dismiss her case. In addition to details from the sexual harassment case, they offer accounts from an anonymous alleged former Stardock employees refuting the idea that Miseta was responsible for Elemental's failure. They say Wardell has not yet responded to their request for comment on this.

Sports Interactive and SEGA announce Football Manager 2013, saying the upcoming iteration of their association football/soccer franchise represents "a seismic shift in the development of the best-selling series" with the addition what they paradoxically describe as an "all-new Classic mode." They say they hope to release it before Christmas in this trailer, which offers their imagined press conference covering this announcement:
Football Manager 2013, announced today by Sports Interactive and SEGA, marks a seismic shift in the development of the best-selling series.
In addition to offering an array of improvements and enhancements over its predecessors, the new release also incorporates a series of radical changes and new game modes which, for some, will revolutionise the way the game is played.
Perhaps the most noteworthy of these is the introduction of the all-new Classic mode… or ‘FMC’ as it’s become known within Sports Interactive. FMC offers, for the first time in Football Manager's long and successful history, an alternative, less time-consuming way for players to approach the game. The new mode simplifies the way players manage their club and allows them to focus on the nuts and bolts of taking their team to the top. Continue here to read the full story.

Blizzard now offers this article with round three of their "Ask Creative Development" series, where they answer questions about World of Warcraft, explaining lore for their MMORPG. This includes a humorous explanation of their deadline for such things as: "when the Andromeda galaxy collides with our own."
Last night was a tough way to open the football season for a Giants fan, and the scheduling I mentioned yesterday means an extended wait for the possibility of redemption. The team's defensive backfield is not their strength to start with, but injuries had the fifth-string cornerback playing with the ones last night. That's not even a tertiary, much less a secondary, and while I always want the NFL season to last longer, if the team can't defend passes better (presumably by generating more of their famed pass rush), it's going to be a long season in that negative way. Anyway, I'm 0-1 on my picks... nowhere to go but up!
