Nexon Bids on EA: Report

Bloomberg has a video report on the possibility that Nexon is preparing to make a bid to purchase Electronic Arts. Here is what the report says: "Shares of game make Electronic Arts are trading up more than six percent right now according to a South Korean newspaper. The online gaming company Nexon Japan has contacted EA about making an offer." The report states they do not now how EA would respond, and Eurogamer has a response from Nexon saying its "policy is to never comment on rumors."

Anno 2070 Domination Beta

The Ubisoft Forums have word that beta testing is now underway for a new domination mode for Anno 2070, and open to all owners of the strategy sequel (thanks Gamer's Hell). This FAQ has all the details, and here's a bit on the new mode:

In the domination mode two teams with up to 5 members are fighting for the highest score. You will get points for solving continuous singleplayer missions with an increasing level of difficulty: Alone or in coop. If you achieve more points than the opposing team in a mission, you automatically win this mission and gain access to other missions with different tasks.

The domination mode works asynchronously, which means that you do not have to be online simultaneously. Your progress is automatically transmitted to the server, as soon as you save or solve a mission successful. For example you can play one hour, leave the game afterwards and then re-enter it at any time. In the meantime your team members will be able to use the saved game to continue.

Out of the Blue

One of the comments on my post yesterday about the possibility we would be moving hit the situation right on the head, as MrsBue's job is being relocated to Glendale, CA, one of the bazillion cities in Los Angeles County. We're still a bit overwhelmed by the prospect, as MrsBlue has lived in New York her entire adult life and I have been here since I was born, and fully planned on spending my adulthood here, should it ever arrive. But Disney is a good company to work for, and it's a tough job market, so we may just decide this will be an interesting forced adventure. And besides, it would offer the chance to investigate who is diverting the water in Echo Lake!
