reports that the latest issue of German print gaming magazine PC Action confirms long-standing rumors
of plans for a PC edition of Dark Souls, saying it is expected this August. This also states the PC edition of the action/RPG will have some new bosses, but will otherwise be identical to the console editions. PC Action's new issue tease
has no indications the magazine offers any such announcement, but and image of the cover
seems to confirm the news. Thanks VG247
from Escape Hatch Entertainment seeks to fund Starlight Inception
, "a space combat experience with modern elements of strategy and tactics." Escape Hatch is headed up by Garry Gaber, formerly of LucasArts, and the post contains quotes verifying his long-standing passion for this type of game:
Our goal is to create a descendant of the space combat genre - it's a game about flying space fighters, bombers and other spacecraft, but it's also about managing the ship's power usage between shields and stealth generators, engines, and weapons. Plus, as you get further in the game, you amass quite an arsenal to pick from for missions. The game's art style is photoreal and gritty - you'll feel like you're in the middle of a big battle amongst the planets, moons and asteroids, making decisions that affect your life and the life of your wingmen, whether human or autonomous drones.
A new Kickstarter campaign
is underway for Ravaged
, 2DawnGames' recently announced
vehicular first-person shooter (thanks Gamer's Hell
). The game has been in development for some time, so they are seeking a $15,000 kickstart to finalize marketing and publishing materials for Steam, finish producing a game trailer, set up beta testing equipment, as well as to develop more vehicles/weapons and add other finishing touches. Supporters will get access to the game's beta on Steam
. Here's word:
As video game developers we often get pulled into the land of publishers. While its good to have someone backing your game, it also tends to focus games towards trends, numbers and executive goals. This has sucked the life out of most games and killed off many good studios.
Well here is your chance to be part of a game where the fun is the focus. To do this, we are going to need your help to put the finishing touches on the game, join our beta and help us get the word out.
The Legend of Grimrock Website
has some of Almost Human's impressions of the impressions reviewers are offering for their new dungeon crawler. They also offer a status report on adding level editing capabilities to the game:
Also, a bit of development related news: we have started working on the level editing capabilities. There’s not much to report yet since the whole thing is still pretty much undergoing some planning and early prototyping but we should be on the right track. Anyways the current plan is to release the editor in stages: initially the editor will be rather simple but more advanced features and scripting capabilities will be added in incrementally in later releases. That way you can get your hands on the editor more quickly and we can get useful feedback from you already in the early stages.

I have my new man-stove all assembled and broken in, though it's sadly still on the lawn, as MrsBlue remains adamant that putting a grill on the deck would be as safe as flying the Hindenburg through, well something really fiery to make a good Hindenburgh analogy. The assembly was pretty straightforward, and I only had two pieces left over when I was done... Naturally they were part of the casters underneath, so I had to find a way to jack the whole thing up to add them on, but it all worked out. We have a family gathering today, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow for my first real meal on it.
