The Skyrim Fan Interview on the Bethesda Softworks Forums discusses the upcoming installment in the Elder Scrolls series of RPGs with Bethesda's Todd Howard, Bruce Nesmith, and Matt Carofano (thanks IGN). Along the way Todd outlines what will differentiate the PC edition of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim:
64-bit specific exe? Not at this time. As far as UI, it visually looks the same across the platforms, but the controls are entirely different. There’s also a lot of “power user” stuff we do with the keyboard from how favorites work, to quick saves, and more that is similar to what we’ve done before in that area. We’re packing a lot of info on the screen and the whole interface is much less ‘look at giant fonts!’ than, say, Oblivion. The PC version also gets higher res textures, larger render modes, and a bunch of other effects you can scale up if your machine is a beast. Last but most important, is the Creation Kit we’ll be releasing for the PC. Modding the game and making it your own is very important to us and our fans, so we’re going to keep doing whatever we can in that area.
Open beta participants will get the exclusive 'King of Bling' skin for Psychozen!
The skin includes a new textured model and will only be available to open beta participants as a permanent add-on to your account through release.
Open beta lifts the closed beta's restrictions on talking about the game (NDA) with the public. Feel free to start plotting and planning as you like how bets to dominate other players with in competitive 5v5 battle instances.
Keep in mind that this is still a BETA phase! While we have included most of the features that will be in the game at launch, there are still balance tweaks and other content updates we are hoping you will help to test yet.

Word is $74 billion will be spent on gaming this year, up from $67 billion last year, and a third of that sum will be for software. They project this will rise to $112 billion by 2015, and much of the growth will be in mobile sector: "As the popularity of smartphones and tablets continues to expand, gaming will remain a key component in the use of these devices," said principal research analyst Tuong Nguyen. "Mobile games are the most downloaded application category across most application stores. For this reason, mobile gaming will continue to thrive as more consumers expand their use of new and innovative portable connected devices."

Andoran Prologue is a modification for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to create a non-linear open world RPG based on Elder Scrolls canon. The project is planned for release sometime this year, and in the meantime, they offer some screenshots and this gameplay trailer showing off the truly stunning visuals this will include. Here's word: "The action of Andoran unfolds in the setting of The Elder Scrolls. The location, where the Prologue takes place, is the island Andoran, one of the three islands of the archipelago south of Black Marsh, the native region of the pangolin-like Argonians. Andoran abounds with climatic zones and different cultures. Much attention is paid to the creation of unique places that will be on the players [sic] way." Thanks Cutter via PC Gamer/SolInvictus.
