He doesn't actually mention Half-Life 2: Episode 3 by name.

GameStop Used Game Lawsuit

A lawsuit has been filed in the Northern District of California against GameStop, citing deceptive practices relating to used game sales. IGN has details on the suit, which stems from a customer buying a used copy of Dragon Age: Origins with the belief that additional DLC was available for free based on the cover blurb. Of course this DLC is part of the new trend intended to impede used-game sales, which the customer learned when they tried to get the DLC, which set them back an additional $15.00, making their final purchase price for the used game $10.00 more than the cost of a brand-new copy (that sound you hear is EA execs exchanging high-fives). IGN has a copy of the complaint in Adobe Acrobat-format, and an article on this on Gamasutra offers thoughts from an analyst saying that GameStop will probably be able to remedy this problem by affixing stickers to used games clarifying DLC availability.

Assassin's Creed 2 Outage Compensation

Joe Kucan on C&C's Improv

There's an Interview with Joe "Kane" Kucan on Computer and Video Games talking with the Command & Conquer villain about the long-running strategy series. In a separate post they single out his admission that: "the truth about Command & Conquer is that we never really planned on a giant, sweeping arc of a story that would create canon from one game to the other." He explains: "We knew we'd created holes that we needed to fill, so we just made it up as we went along. There was really no grand, sweeping plan and I think that's what made it so much fun."

New Star Wars Conquest

Out of the Blue

Frans made a couple of posts about this yesterday: We are experimenting with a Blue's News game server, which is now online running TrackMania Nations Forever. This racing game may seem an unusual choice at first, so this post outlines the process behind this decision. This post describes how to get the free game client and access the server, which is located in California (the Blue Tower is in New York, but the web server is on the west coast as well). If you play you will likely run into Frans and/or myself on occasion, which will provide differing levels of competition, as Frans is a veteran driver, and I am a hopeless newb. I've been surprised how much I am enjoying the game, however, as the time trials remind me of one aspect of Motor City Online (R.I.P.).
